We meet most Thursday evenings during the school year. Visitors are always welcome — come watch, meet the Scouts and leaders, and ask anything. No uniform, no commitment, no paperwork needed for a first visit.
What to expect as a visitor
A typical meeting: opening ceremony, skills instruction run by older Scouts (knots, first aid, cooking, navigation), patrol time to plan the next campout, and a game. Parents are welcome to stay and talk with the adult leaders.
The practical part: park in the church lot off SW 47th Street and come in the main entrance — you'll hear us. Ask anyone for the Scoutmaster; visitors always get a greeter. Wear anything, bring nothing.
What a campout looks like
Most months there's a weekend campout: Scouts arrive Friday evening, set up camp, cook by patrol, and are back by Sunday around noon. Scouts plan the menu, cook the meals, and run the campsite themselves — that's the point. Adults are always on site and camp separately from youth, following Scouting America's youth-protection standards.
